Asthma:

• In asthma, the air passages to the lungs suddenly contract

Symptoms to look for:

• Coughing while playing, sleeping or laughing
• Lack of energy
• Fatigue
• Rapid breathing
• Difficulty in breathing
• Tightening of neck & chest muscles
• Whistling sound while breathing
• Headaches
• Dark circles
• Loss of appetite

Causes:

Allergic asthma
• Coming in contact with dust, smoke or pollution
• It’s usually seasonal in nature

Non-allergic asthma
• Excessive fear
• Anxiety or stress
• Consuming processed foods
• Excessive salt in diet
• Low intake of omega-3 fatty acids
• Weak immune system
• Lack of breastfeeding
• Genetic factors

Natural home remedy using honey:

1. Fill a saucer with honey
2. Hold it beneath your child’s nose and let him inhale the air
3. This helps to ease the breathing

Natural home remedy using fenugreek seeds, ginger and honey:

1. Take 1 tbsp of fenugreek seeds
2. Mix in ½ L of water
3. Let it simmer for 15 min
4. Strain the liquid
5. Take 1 tsp of ginger paste
6. Press the paste on a sieve and extract juice
7. Add ginger juice to the strained liquid
8. Add 1 tsp of honey
9. Mix well
10. Make your child drink 1 glass of the mixture every morning

Natural home remedy using Indian gooseberry powder and honey:

1. Take 1 tsp of Indian gooseberry powder
2. You may de-seed and crush 1 Indian gooseberry and use in place of the powder
3. Mix 1 tsp of honey
4. Give this to your child once every morning

Tips:

• Make sure that your child breathes in clean air
• Make your child wear a cloth mask
• Avoid pets which have feathers or fur
