Tooth pain natural home remedies. Home Remedies for Toothache & Tooth Pain – How to Stop a Toothache. At least once in our life, we experience toothaches. The most common reason for this is tooth decay, which causes inflammation of the gums and tooth pulp. Aside from decay, toothache can also occur if there are too many bacteria in the mouth or if there are a lot of tooth cavities. In any case, toothache is something we do not want to have because it can really cause severe pain.
More often, it is the children who suffer from toothaches. As they are more susceptible to it due to increased sugar intake and poor oral hygiene habits, they develop toothaches every now and then. If your child has a toothache, you do not have to let him endure the pain all night. You do not even have to purchase expensive medications. If you know some effective toothache home remedies, your child can be relieved of the pain in no time.
Below are some of the common toothache home remedies you can use.
Clove oil- for this remedy, simply apply clove oil into the tooth that’s aching. It can help reduce pain and remove the infection in the tooth.
Guava leaves- gather a few guava leaves and wash them with running water. Chew the leaves to get all the juices into your mouth and onto your aching tooth. This remedy has long been used for this purpose.
Garlic-for immediate relief, simply place semi-mashed garlic clove into the aching tooth.
Saltwater gargle-our great-grandmothers used this gargle to kill the germs in the mouth, as well as to alleviate the pain brought about by toothaches. Mix a tablespoon of salt into a glass of warm water. Gargle for 30 seconds at a time.
Pepper and salt- good ol’ pepper is always present in home remedies due to its numerous benefits and healing properties. To help reduce the pain, simply put a pinch of pepper to half a teaspoon of rock salt. Place the mixture into the aching tooth.
Spinach leaves- this is administered in the same way as the guava leaves remedy. But spinach leaves are mostly used to strengthen gums and keep the germs away, so it is more of a preventive ingredient.
Vanilla extract- pour 3 to 4 drops of vanilla extract to provide relief and to hasten the healing process.
Cold compress- you need to secure a small ice pack that can fit inside your mouth and reach the aching tooth. If you can’t find one, you can use ice cubes and place them into thin cloth. Apply the cold compress to the pained area to numb it.
