Cloves contain a substance called eugenol, which is a powerful antiseptic and painkiller.
-Take 2 or 3 cloves and hold them in your mouth as close to the sore area as possible and chew them lightly.
-Clove Oil probably the most effective way to use to help your toothache is to make a compress. Drip a drop or two of the oil onto a cotton ball and apply it to the throbbing tooth.
2. Peppermint Tea bag:
You can use peppermint tea bags in two ways.
-First, apply a cooled tea bag right on the throbbing area.
-Second, put the tea bag in the freezer for a few minutes, then apply it to the tooth. Keep the tea bag on for at least 20 minutes.
3. Salt Water:
A teaspoon of salt dissolved in a cup of boiling water makes a pain-killing mouthwash. Which will clean away irritating debris and help reduce swelling. Swish it around for about 30 seconds before spitting it out.
4. Ice Pack:
Try wrapping an ice pack in a towel and placing it against your jaw (on the side that hurts) for 10 to 15 minutes. You can repeat this every 10 to 15 minutes. The low temperature of the ice will eventually numb the inside of your mouth, which should provide temporary pain relief.
5. Guava Leaves:
At the time of toothache pain chew two tender guava leaves. When the juice of the leaves reaches to the sore area then it will start to alleviate toothache problem.
There is another solution. Take few leaves of guava then boil it with some water. Let the water to get infused by the flavor or juice of guava leaves. Then add a small amount of salt in the mixture. Then after it’s lukewarm in nature use it as a mouthwash. This is an effective method.
6. Ginger-Cayenne Paste:
Mix equal parts of these two heat-packing spices with enough water to make a paste. Roll a small ball of cotton into enough paste to saturate it, then place it on your tooth while avoiding your gums and tongue. Leave it until the pain fades.
7. Garlic and Salt:
Combine one clove of garlic with a sprinkling of salt and crush into a fine paste. Apply the mixture sparingly directly onto the affected tooth, applying too much can leave a strong burning sensation. Leave for several minutes before rinsing with warm salt water.
Rinsing with warm salty water not only helps to draw out the infection and kill bacteria.
8. Vanilla Extract:
You can use vanilla extract in two ways.
-First, dab a small amount of it on your finger and rub the throbbing tooth and gum area.
-Second, apply a small amount of vanilla extract to a cotton ball and place it on the affected area. Repeat two or three times per day.
